Director
James Kelly was co-founder of Amphioxus Cell Technologies in 1995, and was president of the company and the inventor of the Amphioxus core technology. Prior to starting and building Amphioxus, Dr. Kelly co-founded Hepatix, Inc., where he worked as vice president of research & development. At Hepatix, he was responsible for the overall progress of non-clinical programs in the US and Europe, directing a team of 30 scientists and technicians.
Dr. Kelly started his professional career at Baylor College of Medicine, where he was a faculty member for eight years. His postdoctoral training was obtained at Baylor and the Wistar Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. James Kelly holds a BA in Chemistry and a PhD in Biochemistry from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Lawrence M. Gordon
Assistant to the President
Mr. Gordon is the former CEO of Interferon Sciences. Until February 2006, SCI was known as Interferon Sciences. Interferon Sciences was a biotechnology company engaged in the research, development and sale of natural alpha interferon products, including ALFERON N Injection, which is FDA approved in the United States for the treatment of certain types of genital warts. Mr. Gordon has been employed by SCI since February 2006. From 1995 until February, 2006, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Interferon Sciences, Inc. Prior to 1995, he had been Vice President and General Counsel of GP Strategies Corp., a company primarily engaged in workforce development and listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
Mr. Gordon received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1975. He graduated from Delaware Law School in 1979 and was the Editor-in-Chief of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law.

Ian Lyons, PhD
Chief Scientific Officer
Ian Lyons has a BSc(hons) from the Australian National University and a Ph.D. in molecular biology and genetic engineering from the University of Melbourne. After receiving his doctorate, Dr. Lyons began his work in stem cell research during a postdoctoral fellowship at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, Victoria, Australia.
Dr. Lyons was previously Research Area Manager (Stem Cells) and Principal Scientist for Invitrogen, Inc. where his responsibilities included developing the company's portfolio of products for human stem cell research. Prior to joining Invitrogen, Dr. Lyons held senior positions at BresaGen, Ltd., one of the first companies to concentrate on stem cell biology. He is the author of numerous scientific publications dealing with both human and animal cell biology as well as molecular biology.

Mark Germain
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mark Germain is the Managing Director of The Olmsted Group, LLC, a merchant bank serving primarily the biotech and life sciences industries. He has been involved as a founder, director, chairman of the board, or investor in over twenty biotechnology companies, and has assisted many of them in arranging corporate partnerships, acquiring technology, mergers and acquisitions, and financing.
Mr. Germain graduated from New York University School of Law in 1975, Order of the Coif, and practiced corporate and securities law, becoming partner in 1981 and leaving for the private sector in 1986.

Tony Coelho
Director
Tony Coelho was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1978. He served as Majority Whip from 1987 to 1989. While in the House, Mr. Coelho, who has epilepsy, authored the Americans with Disabilities Act, widely recognized as the most important piece of civil rights legislation in the last 30 years. He is currently the Chair of the Epilepsy Foundation of America and serves on numerous Presidential and other national committees related to disabilities.
From 1989 to 1995, Mr. Coelho was Managing Director of Wertheim Schroeder & Co., Inc., and served as President and CEO of Wertheim Schroeder Investment Services, during which time the assets under management increased from $400 million to $5 billion. He has served on numerous corporate boards and currently serves on the boards of Cyberonics, Inc., Warren Resources and Service Corporation International.

Norman Sussman
Director
Norman L. Sussman, M.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and a physician member of the Baylor College of Medicine/The Methodist Hospital in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Prior Dr. Sussman held the position of Executive Vice President of Amphioxus Cell Technologies. Before that he pursued his research interest in extracorporeal liver support by founding a Houston-based biotechnology company. Dr. Sussman was on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine from 1985 to 1994.
Dr. Sussman received his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. His postgraduate training included internships in Medicine, Surgery, and Pediatrics in Johannesburg, London, and St. Louis. He was Chief Resident in Medicine at St. Louis University and completed clinical and research fellowships in Gastroenterology at Washington University in St. Louis.
